What information do I need to complete a product?

Required information

To complete a cost model, you need the following information: 

• Name (unique and easy to identify)

• Currency

• Weight Unit

• Industry Cost Profile: NAICS code and Country of production

• Direct Materials: at least one commodity with its net weight and unit of measure 

Optional information

• Article number

• Product Description

• EAN number

• Tags

• Unit of measure

• Supplier

• Article number supplier

• Prices/Unit paid (current and historical purchasing prices)

• Custom Cost Elements

• Freight lanes (if available)

When the 'Complete' button turns orange, the product contains all required information. If the button remains unavailable, check whether all required fields have been completed.

Although only a limited number of fields are required, we recommend completing as many fields as possible to create the most accurate and detailed cost model.
